How to Make Turmeric Pain Relief Tea


Every now and then people suffer from pain, whether it is a headache, backache, toothache, etc.

 At this point, we all reach for some painkillers.

They might relieve us from pain temporary, but do they solve the problem? The answer to this question is No.

Furthermore, there are many side effects of painkillers, such as diarrhea, high blood pressure, nausea, erectile dysfunction, and even increased risk of kidney cancer and heart attack.

Luckily, there is a way to relieve your pain without taking drugs, but use natural remedy only.

Therefore, here we will present the benefits of one of the best food on the planet – turmeric and how to prepare a completely homemade natural pain relief tea.

Benefits of Turmeric

Turmeric is a yellow-orange spice in a form of powder originating from India.

 It is loaded with nutrients, but its most useful ingredient is curcumin. It has an anti-inflammatory effect which makes it beneficial for eliminating bad matters in your body, such as toxins, plaque, and free radicals.

In addition, turmeric tea is quite effective in treating any kind of pain and inflammation due to the curcumin found in it. It may relieve joint and muscle pain, and thus relax the whole body.

However, note that turmeric tea isn’t good for women during pregnancy or breastfeeding period.

Turmeric Tea Recipes

Recipe no. 1


4 cups of water

1 teaspoon turmeric

Honey (optional)

Lemon (optional)

Ginger (optional)


Pour the water in a pot, put it on the stove, and boil it. Once the water starts bubbling, add the turmeric.

However, if you use freshly grated turmeric you should boil the water for 15 to 20 minutes.

Then, strain the water and add honey, lemon, and ginger for better taste.

Recipe no. 2


1 cup of coconut or almond milk

1 ½ teaspoon of honey

½ teaspoon of turmeric

½ inch chopped ginger

A pinch of cayenne pepper


First, warm the milk you chose in a pot. Then, in another vessel mix the turmeric, honey, cayenne pepper, and ginger.

Afterward, add some of the warm milk and stir well until you get a homogeneous texture.

Add the rest of the milk and stir well again. Strain the milk and serve in a cup.

Recipe no. 3


1/3 cup of honey
2 ½ teaspoon of ground turmeric
Freshly ground black pepper


Make a paste by mashing turmeric and honey.

Take a heaped spoon of this paste, put it in a cup, and pour it with boiling water.

 Then, squeeze a little bit of lemon juice and add a pinch of the ground black pepper. Stir well and drink this wonderful tea.

Additional  Suggestions for Serving

There are plenty of ways to serve turmeric tea depending on the taste. If you like fruits you may add some slices of orange or apples.

You may also add some cucumber slices if you prefer vegetables.

Moreover, if the taste of the tea is too strong for you and you want a milder taste you may add some more water.

At the end, if you avoid drinking hot teas in the summer, just let it cool off, store in the fridge and drink it as a refreshing and healthy drink.
